On September 4th and 5th, 2024, in effort to celebrate the 30th Anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between Japan and Palau, two Japanese Professors conducted science shows for students in Palau. Japanese Associate Professors, Mr. Fukuoka Ryoji from Osakai Seikei University and Ms. Akazawa Masayo from Bukkyo University came to Palau to conduct science shows for Belau Modekngei High School, Palau High School, and Seventh Day Adventist Elementary School.

Mr. Fukuoka and Ms. Akazawa explained the science method by performing several experiments. The show featured exciting demonstrations, including making sounds with plastic bottles, illustrating acid-alkali reactions using purple cabbage juice, and demonstrating boiling without fire or electricity. The students were enthusiastic, closely observing the experiments and responding with enthusiastic applause. Afterwards, students came up to the professors and asked them questions about the science method.

One of the associate professors, Mr. Fukuoka appeared on TV many times before in Japan. Formerly a comedian on TV, now as a science professor, he encourages students to gain more interest in science by showcasing the subject in an entertaining way. His visit to Palau was a first, inspired by the strong relationship between Japan and Palau. He expressed his desire to return in the future to continue fostering a love for science among Palauan students and to help overcome any apprehensions they may have about the subject.
