Search for the missing young artist from Ngkeklau, Ngaraard has been extended up to Friday, February 14th.
Request from the family of Dave Ngirailemesang to the Ministry of Justice for five more days of search was approved and the search will continue.
Dave Ngirailemesang, an artist and art teacher at the Mindzenty High School was reported missing by his family after he failed to return after a fishing expedition on Sunday, February 2 at Ngkeklau, Ngaraard. After searching for him late Sunday, he was reported missing to the Bureau of Public Safety on Monday morning, February 3rd and an official search commenced.
The search party consisted of members from various law enforcement agencies (Marine Law, Bureau of Public Safety, CID, Fish & Wildlife), Rangers from various State governments, family members and members of the public. Search support included US Coast Guards providing tide and current information, PM Air providing aerial search, drones and US C130 plane deploying tidal current tracking devices to provide real-time data for search parties.
The search covered outer reef, inshore water and mangroves and was conducted during high and low tides.
Outpourings of support for the family and his community continue with the support of food and drinks for the search party and prayers held for them. (L.N. Reklai)
