Overview:
Palau and Japan have taken another step in strengthening cultural and historical preservation efforts following the signing of a new agreement between the Ministry of Human Resources, Culture, Tourism, and Development and JICA Palau Office. The project aims to develop a master plan focused on the management, preservation, and tourism potential of Japan-related historical heritage sites across Palau.
On the 8th of May, Minister Tmetuchl of the Ministry of Human Resources, Culture, Tourism, and Development and Chief Representative Mr. AOKI of JICA Palau Office officially signed the Record of Discussions for “The Project for Formulating Community Promotion Plan through Management of Historical Heritages”.
The purpose of this Record of Discussions is to establish a mutual agreement for implementation of the Project by both parties and to agree on the detailed plan of the Project.
This Project, under the Technical Cooperation for Development Planning Scheme, is a Master Plan that will improve Management and Preservation of Japan Related Historical Heritage; including Identification and Listing of Japan Related Historical Heritages, Proposal of Tourism and Educational Utilization Model, and Proposal to strengthen the Implementation Framework for the Preservation and Utilization of Japan Related Historical Heritages.
