HONIARA, 03 OCTOBER 2019 (SOLOMON STAR) — Solomon Islands Governor General, Reverend David Vunagi will be knighted by Her Majesty, Queen Elizabeth II on 16 October in London.
Reverend David will leave for London on Thursday via Brisbane and Singapore.
In London, he will have a courtesy call on Her Majesty the Queen prior to the knighthood ceremony. He will also have a number of engagements during his visit in London.
This will be Reverend David’s first overseas trip after his swearing-in as Solomon Islands Governor General on 07 July.
From London, he Will travel to Tokyo to represent the Solomon Islands Government during the enthronement of His Majesty, Emperor Naruhito of Japan on 22 October.
The Governor General is accompanied by Lady Mary Vunagi and 3 Officials from the Government House including two others from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the Office of the Prime Minister and Cabinet. (PACNEWS)
