Gusty winds and spurts of heavy rains will ease up a bit toward the weekend according to the weather forecast from the Palau National Weather Service (NWS) yesterday, 25th of September, 2023.
Attributed to monsoon surge, the weather on Monday brought wind gusts at 25 to 30 miles per hour, and waves 6 to 8 feet, prompting a Small Craft Warning Advisory.
“The area of strongest winds is expected to slowly drift east on Tuesday, decreasing winds slightly for Palau,” reported the NWS.
Although the weather forecast reports wind speeds dropping slightly starting today onward, it shows only moderate reduction of wind speeds from 20 to 30 down 20 to 25 miles per hour and swells dropping to 3 to 4 feet.
The public announcement reminds everyone to be careful, watch for fallen debris and flooding.
With ongoing preparations this week for the upcoming events, the Olchotel Belau Fair and the Independence Day, it is advisable to take all precautions and stay updated on the weather conditions. (By: L. N. Reklai)
