KOROR, Palau — A suspect in an attempted robbery at 7-EAT Restaurant in Madalii was released after being held in custody for 24 hours, authorities confirmed.
Police arrested Temarikel Jewish Baustor on Tuesday morning, April 2, after receiving a report of a masked man attempting to rob the restaurant.
According to the police report, Baustor arrived at 7-EAT Restaurant around 7:30 a.m., claiming to be selling coconut crabs. The restaurant, which had not yet opened for business, allowed him inside under the assumption he was a vendor. Once inside, he allegedly pulled out a knife and demanded money from the employees.
Baustor fled the scene but was apprehended by police around 8 a.m.
Restaurant employees took photos of the suspect and shared them on social media, alleging that Baustor had stolen from them before and warning others to be cautious. The images showed a young man with half of his face covered by a black cloth. (By: L.N. Reklai)
