On June 25, 2020, Ambassador Wallace M.G. Chow of the Republic of China (Taiwan) to Palau donated 1,500 USD to Dolphins Pacific, a non-profit corporation where everyone can get close to dolphins in a natural and oceanic environment. General Manager Elisabeth Howard and board member Alan Seid of Dolphins Pacific accompanied Ambassador Chow to the dolphin sanctuary and gave a short tour.
General Manager Howard disclosed that since the COVID-19 outbreak and suspension of all flights to and from Palau, Dolphins Pacific’s major income from visitors has almost dropped to zero, and that has made a huge impact on their operation, even difficult to keep dolphins property fed. In this short but informative visit to Dolphins Pacific, Ambassador Chow was impressed by the clever dolphins and hard-working staff. He hoped that this donation will encourage more people to support the Dolphins Pacific to weather this difficult time.
