With the Mini Games in Saipan approaching to less than a month to Opening Ceremony on June 17th, Team Palau 22 is working the extra mile to hit their fundraising target to help with Team success to the Games.  From last Saturday night market, Team Palau sold foods, coconut drinks, games and received donation raising about $2k at the night market.  Totaling raised funds to date for Team 22 at $15k. 

Total Budget for Team 22 to the Games is at $130k, covering transportation, accommodations, meals, team uniforms, practice support, equipment, insurance, covid tests, and incidentals for the team.  Team 22 confirmed number is 76 athletes and officials. The Palau NOC has applied for athletes grants to IOC, including support from ONOC and Pacific Games Council to help offset athletes’ games fees.  Team 22 Rising up to the Challenge is to raise minimum 25k. 

On Monday, May 23rd, Surangel and Sons company donated $10k to help with Team 22.  The donation was presented by Irang Whipps and received by SG Baklai Temengil-Chilton on behalf of Team 22.  The Team expresses deep appreciation to Surangel and Sons for their continuous commitment and strong support to youth in sports programs and Team Palau.  In the Team 22 fundraising trail, Ivan Rudimch (IR MOTORS) donated a vehicle in the cash value of $4,500 to be raffled by Team 22 as part of the fundraising scheme.  Raffle tickets for the vehicle will be sold at $20 per raffle ticket and the drawing is set for June 10th. Tickets will be available starting this week at Palau NOC Office.

As part of Rising up to the Challenge, Team 22 Palau are training daily, and meeting regularly as the whole Team to strengthen communications, ensure preventive measures and COVID RAT weekly.  The Team is building on good Team morals and character of strong Team Palau of athletes, coaches and officials.  The Team is ready with final travel plans to depart of June 11th and return on June 26th. Team 22 are sports of baseball, athletics, beach volleyball, canoe, triathlon, weightlifting, and golf.
