Joel Muñoz Elected as President
The Filipino Club of Palau (TFCP) 2025-2027 General Election featured two candidates vying for the position of President, each bringing unique leadership experiences and visions for the Filipino community in Palau.
Presidential Candidates:
Joel Muñoz
Muñoz, previously the President of UIIPC, focused his campaign on community service, financial assistance programs, and medical outreach for Filipino workers in Palau. His extensive background in community-led projects, including infrastructure restoration, solidified his reputation as a leader committed to advocacy and action. His platform included:
- Expanding community assistance programs for financial support.
- Strengthening diplomatic and economic partnerships with the Palauan community.
- Launching medical clinics for all TFCP members.
- Promoting inclusivity through general assemblies.
Tito Tuburan Cabunagan
Cabunagan, a veteran community leader, emphasized his experience as a former TFCP chairperson in 2012, 2014, and 2018. His campaign focused on improving organizational structure and advocating for Filipino workers’ rights, with key proposals such as:
- Establishing a dedicated TFCP office to better serve members.
- Negotiating improved retirement benefits and remittance tax adjustments for Filipino workers.
- Holding frequent general assemblies to encourage active member participation.
- Enhancing TFCP’s collaboration with different Filipino community groups in Palau.
