A team of PPUC’s technical staff recently completed a comprehensive training on grid code compliance and distributed energy resources interconnection conducted by Hawaii National Energy Institute (HNEI) from October 30 to November 1, 2024. The training covered critical aspects of grid code standards and the safe, efficient integration of solar PV systems into the utility’s power network. The program also provided insights into best practices for collaborating with solar developers, ensuring that systems meet both safety standards and performance requirements to protect customers and the grid.
With this training, PPUC staff are better equipped to address both the challenges and opportunities that accompany the integration of renewable energy sources, fostering a cleaner, more sustainable future for the communities served.
