The Palau Election Commission has certified the winners of elected offices in Kayangel State and Hatohobei State, both of which saw minimal competition for legislative seats and the Office of the Governor.
In a rare occurrence, the two states had very few candidates seeking office. In Kayangel State, incumbent Governor Richard Ngiraked ran unopposed. Of the 12 seats in the legislature, only 13 candidates ran, leaving just one seat contested.
Hatohobei State also had only one candidate for the Office of the Governor. Ray Marino received 62 out of 71 votes cast. Jacqueline Victor, the sole candidate for the Office of Lieutenant Governor, also won unopposed.
In the Hatohobei Legislature, nine candidates ran for the nine available seats. With no competition, all nine were elected and certified as Legislators-At-Large for the state. (By: L.N. Reklai)
