Police Sergeant, Ayla Ubedei, of the Division of Juvenile Justice at the Ministry of Justice has been selected to attend JICA’s Knowledge Co-Creation Program (KCCP).

Overview:

Police Sergeant Ayla Ubedei of Palau’s Division of Juvenile Justice has been selected to participate in the Japan International Cooperation Agency’s (JICA) Knowledge Co-Creation Program (KCCP) on Community Policing in Tokyo, Japan. The training will introduce participants from 23 countries to Japan’s renowned “KOBAN” community policing system aimed at strengthening crime prevention and police-community relations.

Police Sergeant, Ayla Ubedei, of the Division of Juvenile Justice at the Ministry of Justice has been selected to attend JICA’s Knowledge Co-Creation Program (KCCP).  Ubedei will be participating Community Policing course.  

Participants will be introduced to community policing by way “KOBAN”.  In Japan, it is an effective way to prevent crime and build good relationship with residents.  The program offers the opportunity for participants to acquire the knowledge and technique of community policing by learning the system and activities of Japanese community policing.  Furthermore, this program offers the opportunity to know the educating system of police officers in Japan.  In addition, participants are expected to share their own activities for community policing and discuss with other participants and Japanese experts how to improve their system.

The course duration will be from May 13 to May 30, 2026 with participants from 23 countries across the globe in Tokyo, Japan. (PR)
