KOROR, Palau — President Surangel S. Whipps Jr. has appointed Dr. Amir Ali Salemi Zadeh, founder and chief executive officer of JTA International Investment Holding, as Senior Economic Advisor to the Republic of Palau, the Office of the President announced May 29.

In his new role, Dr. Salemi Zadeh will provide strategic guidance on economic policy, sustainable development, and the diversification of Palau’s economy — priorities the Whipps administration has identified as central to the island nation’s long-term prosperity.
The appointment follows a site visit earlier this year during which President Whipps hosted Dr. Salemi Zadeh on a tour of several locations across Palau being considered for redevelopment or reinvigoration, including Dolphin Park.
