President Surangel Whipps Jr. will be traveling overseas for most of the month of September, departing September 6 and returning at the end of September.

Announcing last Wednesday, Whipps said he would be in Japan from September 6th to the 10th.  While in Japan, he expects to sign an MOU on transportation and discuss the ongoing power project for Palau.  Both Ministers Obichang and Tmetuchl are in Japan talking with different airlines about possible flight schedules to Palau, and Whipps plans to further support those discussions whilst in Japan.

Arriving in Guam on September 10, Whipps expects to hold a town hall meeting with Palauans in Guam before departing to Hawaii to attend the Pacific Islands Conference Leaders  (PICL) from September 12 to 14.

President Whipps will depart Hawaii to New York to attend the 77th United Nations General Assembly (UNGA) meeting with Olbiil Era Kelulau representatives from 13 to 27th September.

There’s an invitation from United States President Joe Biden to the Pacific leaders to meet with him in Washington D.C. from the 28-29th of September.

Whipps also revealed at the press conference that he might be going to Singapore to sign an airline MOU to help bring other airlines to Palau as well.   This is tentatively planned for the first week of October, from the 1st to the 4th.
