H.E. Mr. Surangel S. WHIPPS, Jr., President of the Republic of Palau, will visit Japan from September 7 to 10. During his stay, President Whipps will attend a meeting and a working lunch with Prime Minister KISHIDA Fumio.
Japan and Palau are partners who share a long history of exchange as well as fundamental values such as freedom, democracy, rule of law, and human rights.
Through President Whipps’ visit to Japan, it is expected that the bilateral relations will be further strengthened and the cooperation between the two countries will be enhanced toward the realization of a “free and open Indo-Pacific”.
This will be President Whipps’ first visit to Japan since taking office in January 2021, and it will be his first meeting with Prime Minister Kishida.
