A tragic road accident late yesterday afternoon in Ngetkib, Airai, took the life of a local woman crossing the road when she was struck by a vehicle. According to reports, she was pronounced dead shortly after arriving at the hospital.
According to unofficial reports, the victim, Mrs. Bettina Salvador was hit while crossing the road near her house. The reports also said that the vehicle was driven by Ms. Beverly Tewid who stopped when the incident occurred.
Official report on the tragic incident was not yet available as this went to press but videos provided by passing vehicles show heavy rain during the late afternoon traffic.
