Different government offices had worked together to launch the Youth Corps Summer Program on June 17.
Among the agencies that worked together to realize the program were the Ministry of Community and Cultural Affairs (MCCA), the Ministry of Education (MOE), the Office of the President, Palau National Marine Sanctuary, Palau International Coral Reef Center, Bureau of Maritime Security and Fish and Wildlife Protection, Palau National Olympic Committee/Athletes Commission, Friends of the Palau National Marine Sanctuary and Belau National Museum.
Youth Corps aims to provide applied learning opportunity through activities and engagement of young people to environment and culture in relation to education and well-being.
The expected outcome for the event is for the youth to learn and apply lessons through the protection of culture in the context of historical preservation and the different sites, understand more about PNMS & PICRC programs, and activities around PNMS and PICRC.
Through the program the youth will be engaged in sports, learning to play instruments, arts, dance and music. (PR)
