August 9, 2016 (Koror) Two states of Babeldoab will hold their State elections prior to the national primary election in September.

Ngiwal State will have its general election tomorrow, August 10th, 2016.  The 3 gubernatorial candidates are incumbent Governor Ellender Ngirameketii, Hideki Takataro and Xavior Ngirameong.  

[restrict] The 12 candidates for the 7 legislature seats are Sisco Melaitau, Stephly Gabriel, Loraine Kloulubak, Marina Udui, Gregorio Ngirmang, Jonathan Masaichi, Johndeck Timarong, Emory Mesubed, Rachel Lukas, Francis Termeteet, and Jonathan Bultedaob.

The State of Ngarchelong will be electing its legislature in accordance with its constitution.  According to ballot specimen, they will be electing 8 people representing 8 hamlets.  The candidates are Dwight Ngirchemat for Ngriil hamlet, Dwight Ngiraibai for Ngerbau hamlet, Jason Ngiratrang for Ngermetong hamlet, Ngirablau Sambal for Iyebukel hamlet, 2 candidates for Mengellakl hamlet,Jovan E. Isaac and Kyoko April, Caleb Tekriu for Ngebei hamlet, Dorothy Tadao Ueda for Ngeungel hamlet and Abraham Osima for Ollei hamlet.

Each state has a different election date for it’s government base on each state constitution, with some governments with 2-year terms, four-year terms and different terms for governors and legislatures.  Other states expected to hold elections before the end of the year are Ngardmau State and Angaur State.
