USAF B1-Bomber to fly-by today in honor of US veterans

In honor of Veterans Day, B-1 Bombers will fly over Palau after making a round over Guam and CNMI.

The flyover will be on Friday, Nov. 11, starting in Guam. Residents of Palau can watch the flyover from near the Roman Tmetuchl International Airport in Airai at about 2 p.m.

The Republic of Palau joins our brothers and sisters of the United States and its Territories in saluting those who served and those currently serving in the U.S. military in defense of Democracy and the rights we enjoy as citizens of Democratic nations.

“To the sons and daughters of Palau who faithfully served or are currently serving in the U.S. Army, Marines, Air Force, Navy, Coast Guard — and now Space Force — we are grateful for your service and the sacrifices you made to serve. Missing birthday parties, graduations and anniversary dinners can’t be easy — for you or your family,” said President Surangel S. Whipps, Jr.

“I ask all my fellow Palauans to pray for and to keep in your thoughts all of our sons, daughters, fathers, mothers, and other family members who are right now serving and stationed throughout the world. We also keep in our hearts those who paid the ultimate sacrifice so that we can enjoy the freedoms we have today.”

Last month, President Whipps issued a memo releasing all veterans working for the government on US Veterans Day, November 11 on paid administrative leave.  The memo encouraged other national agencies, state government and private sector extend the same to veterans in their employ, “to show our gratitude and to honor those who have served.”
