An Airai State Delegation consisting of Governor Tmewang Rengulbai, Delegate Victoria Kanai, State Legislator Clinton Freese and State Legislator Ralph Kanai visited sister city Hsinchu in Taiwan from Dec 6 to 9 with a view to strengthening the bilateral relations.

The Airai State Delegation called upon Hsinchu City Mayor Chih-chien Lin and City Council Speaker Wen-chin Hsieh to exchange experiences on reforms of city affairs and seek potential areas of cooperation in tourism, education and technology.

Apart from visiting Hsinchu City Mayor and City Council Speaker, the Airai Delegation also toured around the city and visited the famous Hsinchu Science Park as well as ancient sites of the city such as moat and the East Gate.

Hsinchu City and Airai State established sister city relationship in 2011 thanks to a joint effort by then former Airai State Governor Kanai, Hsinchu City Council Speaker Hsieh and Taiwan Embassy in Palau. Ever since the two sister cities exchange experiences, encourage cooperation and enhance mutual communications between them. The September 2017 saw a Hsinchu businessman George Cheng broke ground on a villa park of 250 luxury villas and high-end amenities he invested in Airai. [/restrict]
