24 FEBRUARY 2023– With the Australia – Palau Connector, it’s never been easier to travel to Australia!
This Tuesday night, the first “Australia – Palau Connector” flight will arrive in Koror. As passengers disembark Air Niugini flight PX6 to be met with warm Palauan hospitality, this inaugural flight will be commemorated with an official ceremony on site.
The weekly scheduled flight, operated by Air Niugini, will depart Koror early on Wednesday morning, stopping briefly in Port Moresby, before arriving in Brisbane.
This exciting new route is supported through the Australian Government’s Pacific Flights Program. Australia believes that a well-connected Pacific with safe, accessible, and reliable air transport underpins security and economic recovery.
The Pacific is connected beyond pre-COVID levels through commercial services. Through the Pacific Flights Program, Australia continues to work in partnership with Pacific Island countries to ensure safe and reliable air connectivity.
The Australian Embassy anticipates this flight will contribute to Palau’s tourism growth and foster greater people-to-people links.
Tickets can be purchased online from Air Niugini’s website, online ticket agents, or in person at local travel agents in Koror.
The Embassy wishes to remind travellers that a visa is required prior to your departure to Australia. Visa applications are submitted online at https://immi.homeaffairs.gov.au/visas/getting-a-visa/visa-finder.
