11 January 2024– The Australian Embassy is proud to mark 30 years of diplomatic relations between Australia and Palau in 2024. To commemorate this significant milestone, the Australian Embassy will be celebrating throughout the year with a variety of events demonstrating the breadth and depth of our strong partnership.
The first of these events celebrated our fondness for community sporting events and our mutual appreciation of the benefits of an active lifestyle – a 5K fun run/walk on Thursday 11 January. Participants ran and walked from the Australian Embassy (RT Building) to the President’s Satellite Office and back, with 30th anniversary prizes on offer and a good time had by all.
The Australian Embassy continues celebrations by launching our Instagram page. The community is encouraged to follow us on Instagram @AusEmbPW (and Facebook) and enter the launch competition to win a 30th Anniversary prize pack full of branded goods and some tasty Australian treats! In partnership with EPFM87.9, a trivia and Australian music artist competition will be held each month. Listeners will be invited to answer several trivia questions at approximately 4.00pm on the second Friday of each month. Listen in this Friday 12 January and be the first caller to provide all the correct answers to win a prize! And on the last Friday of each month listeners will be invited to call in and identify several Australian songs and artists for a prize.
The Australian Embassy is excited to be celebrating this important milestone in our bilateral relationship. Keep an eye out for more events and celebrations throughout 2024 as we commemorate 30 years of friendship between Palau and Australia.
