Kolor Run event last Saturday hosted by Palau Track & Field and Koror State Youth Council.

More than 200 participants came out to Long Island Park on Saturday January 25th to take part in the 4th Annual Color Run hosted by the Palau Track and Field Association and Koror State Youth Council. The event started at 6AM with the participants being required to go from Long Island to Ernguul Park and then back.

Once the participants go back to Long Island Park, they are greeted with a colorful welcome from the organizers and volunteers from the event. The first person finished the color run within 20 minutes and by an hour all participants finished the run.

One of the runners mentioned that she was counting her steps throughout the event and that she accumulated 6,000 steps. Studies show that those who walk 6,000 steps a day on average will less likely to have problems with standing, walking, and climbing stairs.

Overall this event brought people together to improve people’s health and they get to have fun with different color powders, but most importantly the proceeds that were earned during this event will help fund ongoing programs that are facilitated by the Palau Track and Field Association.

Palau Track and Field Association extends its thanks for the participants and all of the volunteers and supporters involved with making the color run a success. (Telbakes Yano)
