Koror, Palau | July 9, 2025— The 2025 Pacific Mini Games officially concluded on Tuesday evening at the Palau National Track, where athletes, officials, and fans gathered for the closing ceremony — a celebration of athletic excellence, cultural pride, and regional unity.
Heleina Young of Fijiwas awarded the title of Outstanding Female Athlete of the Games, following her remarkable performance in athletics where she secured three gold and two silver medals. Her achievements placed her at the top among all female competitors and highlighted Fiji’s strength on the track.
Samoa’s John Tafi was named the Outstanding Male Athlete, after winning three gold medals in weightlifting. In honor of his achievement, the Samoa delegation performed a traditional cultural number during the ceremony, showcasing national pride and celebrating Tafi’s success.
As the festivities drew to a close, the symbolic Games cauldron was extinguished, marking the official end of the Palau-hosted event. Athletes from across the Pacific joined together one final time, exchanging embraces and celebrating the friendships and memories made throughout the competition.
The flag was officially passed to the Cook Islands, who will host the next Pacific Mini Games in 2029. The Cook Islands delegation offered a cultural performance to give the audience a glimpse of the hospitality and spirit that awaits in the next host nation.
