Former governor and treasurer of Angaur State Ken Uehara said he was pleased to hear that former governor Marvin Ngirutang had made a public apology to the people of Angaur. He, however, refutes the statement that neither himself nor the legal counsel had approved the funds’ disbursement.

He said that the disbursements of funds were made by former governor Ngirutang of his own accord, which was the reason why he was the only person tried and convicted of the illegal expenditures.  Documents obtained clearly showed that the former governor was the sole person responsible for the unauthorized expenditures.

Former Governor Marvin Ngirutang offered an apology to the people of Angaur for sullying their name as a result of the case of fraud and theft filed against him.  He reported to the people of Angaur that he had completed his probation and paid the entire restitution of  $72,905.53.
