Palau’s graduating Class of 2020 have officially begun receiving their diplomas and are grateful for the opportunity to walk in their caps and gowns surrounded by their families.

Yesterday, May 18th was Emmaus and Bethania High Schools (EBHS) graduation with 14 students graduating this year and last week Friday Palau Community College held its 57th Commencement Exercise.

PCC awarded 62 students from 22 different majors and 8 students in Adult High. Among the 62 were 3 valedictorians and one of them was 19 years old Ikelau Lorinda Uro who juggled both high school and college so that she could receive her college diploma after one year from graduating Palau High School.

Although graduation ceremonies are ongoing, covid-19 safety precautions are still highly enforced.  PCC had the requirement of one guest per graduate in the assembly hall. Others waited outside and the crowd was not too large.

Many more graduations are coming up later this month with Belau Modekngei School (May/22), Mindszenty High School (MAY/30) and Palau Mission Academy (MAY/31). All graduations will be happening in May.
