Palau National Communications Corporation (PNCC) will air a new Japanese TV drama called “Bloom” on PNCC Digital TV Channel 25 starting June 26 at 5pm.
Through a grant from the Japan Foundation coordinated by the Embassy of Japan in Palau, the popular TV series is available for free to all DTV Basic viewers.
“Bloom” (156 episodes, dubbed in English) is a home drama set in 1964, the year of the Tokyo Olympics. The main character is Mineko, a 17-year-old girl from a farming family whose father leaves to find work in Tokyo to support his family, but goes missing. Determined to find him, Mineko travels to Tokyo with two childhood friends.
Program schedule days will be Wednesday, Thursday and Friday, at 5:00 – 6:00 pm, with a weekly ‘marathon’ replay each Sunday from 5:00pm to 8:00pm. Schedule for the Japan Foundation TV Series is posted on PNCC Digital TV channel 1.
PNCC has also made some changes to the DTV channel lineup recently. To see the changes from Channel 57 and up, subscribers need to perform the restore default operation in the Set Top Box menu. For help, please call PNCC at 587-9000 or 611 from 7am to 12 midnight daily.
