November 14, 2017 (Koror, Palau) Another historic day for Koror State, holding its Eleventh General Election today, November 14th.

This election is seeing the most number of candidates running for the Office of Governor and Legislature, as well as the most number of female candidates running for office since its inception in 1981.


Total of seven candidates are vying for the Office of Governor include Lillian Uludong, Franco B. Gibbons, Eyos Rudimch, Alfonso Diaz, Roman Yano, Sam Masang and Harry R. Fritz. Nineteen candidates vie for only five At-Large seats in the Koror State Legislature. Each of the twelve hamlet seats are contested except for Madalaii, by more than one candidate.

Koror State generates over $15 million in revenue each year and have in concentration most of Palau’s famed tour sites including the Southern Lagoon, the UNESCO registered site.  \

It is the most populated State in the Republic of Palau holding nearly a third of all total registered voters, home to over half of the total population of Palau and is a commercial nerve center of the Republic.
