Palau may still experience light to heavy showers, isolated thunderstorms and windier conditions through this week according to the weather update of the National Emergency management Office and the National Weather Service which was released yesterday, August 16.

As of yesterday’s weather report, the tropical disturbance had already developed into tropical depression 22W which was already between Guam and Yap and is moving north-northwest.

While the tropical depression will not directly affect Palau, according to the weather update, it will continue to cause rainy conditions.

As the Tropical Depression 22W moves north-northwest, improved weather conditions are expected.

The public are still advised to secure any loose items around their houses and to be careful when driving and watch out for possible flooding, landslides/mudslides and falling debris.

NEMO and the National Weather Service still continue the weather monitoring.
