May 3, 2017 (Hatgana, Guam) Ltelatk H. Fritz, Palau Small Business Development Center Director was one of the two nominees for the State Star award, an annual outstanding employee award by America’s Small Business Development Center conference during its annual conference in Nashville, Tennessee in September.


The two nominees are Ms. Fritz of Palau SBDC and Ms. Jane Ray of Guam SBDC.  Out of the 63 SBDC networks, one will be selected that exhibit exemplary  performance, make significant contributions to their State, region or territory and show strong commitment to small business.

The selection of Ms. Fritz and Ms. Ray were revealed at the annual Pacific Islands Small Business Development Center Advisory Board meeting in Guam this May 3, 2017.

Senator Phillip Reklai, the advisory Board member from Palau joined board members  and center directors from Guam, CNMI, Kosrae, Chuuk, and Yap at the meeting to discuss issues, opportunities for development  and concerns with the centers.

The mission of the Pacific Island Small Business Development Center Network, according to information released by Palau SBDC, is to support growth and economic development of the U.S. affiliated islands by providing high quality training and one-on-one confidential counseling to existing small business and to small business start-ups.
