(Koror, Palau) Declaring the revival and strengthening of the medical dispensaries in Babeldaob and the outlying States as one of his priorities in the first 100 days, Minister Dr. Emais Roberts says the work is already ongoing to recruit for the dispensaries.

Seeing the greater use of the dispensaries as solution to Belau National hospital congestion, preventive care, and community health care solution, Minister Roberts says he going to work with the community and OEK to get the dispensaries equipped, manned and utilized properly.
One of his priorities is ensure that qualified medical personnel are located in the dispensaries so that people will have more confidence in the dispensaries and utilized them more.
Moving on his promises to improve the Ministry of Health, Minister Roberts had made changes within the Ministry in his first week of work. Some of the major changes include the change in the heads of key departments.
During his press conference last week, Minister Roberts introduced the new heads of departments. Dr. Mekoll is the new Medical Director, responsible for clinical services. Sherry Madraisau is the Director of Public Health and Darnell Decherong is the new Director Bureau of Health Administration in charge of day to day operations of the hospital and Antionette Merur is the new Director of Nursing.
Other priority areas for Minister Roberts include consolidation of Public Health offices under one roof, recruiting more doctors, improving hospital operations and constructing a step-down facility among others. [/restrict]
