A key objective of the one-day consultation is to reach an agreement on possible partnerships between UN and key development actors in implementing the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) in Palau from 2018-2022, the new UNPS cycle. More than 50 participants are expected to attend, including senior government officials, representatives of national and state government agencies, non-government organizations, civil society groups, youth and private sector representatives.
A successful consultation will ensure that the new UNPS is aligned with key national and regional development priorities, to be addressed in partnerships with government, civil society, private sector and other partners, as well as foster ownership of the UNPS. The UN Resident Coordinator for the Pacific, Ms. Osnat Lubrani; Country Director of the UNDP Pacific Office, Mr. Bakhodir Burkhanov and UN staff will attend the consultation. [/restrict]
