Four new Japan Overseas Cooperation Volunteers (JOCV) have been dispatched to Palau.

The volunteers are namely Satoshi Yamashita, Akiko Kuwabara, Tomoaki Hirano, and Masako Kondo.

Yamashita will be teaching Mathematics and Physical Education at Ibobang Elementary School while Kuwabara, who specializes in physical education, is assigned in Koror Elementary School.

Meanwhile, Hirano, who is a Mathematics teacher, will also be teaching at the George B. Harris Elementary School while Kondo, who is also a Mathematics teacher, will be teaching at the Maris Stella School.

The JOCV Program is one of Japan International Cooperation Agency’s (JICA) programs operated as part of Japan’s Official Development Assistance (ODA).

The volunteers are trained individuals in various technical fields and who aim to work for nation-building and human resource development. (PR)
