The women’s group of Koror was provided a presentation about the latest research activities being conducted by PICRC. Also highlighted were insights on the giant clams found in Palau and the science being done to further study these fascinating creatures.
The women were able to ask questions about issues affecting the environment like climate change and poaching. Likewise PICRC staff was able to learn from the women about mangrove clam cultivation how it would be beneficial to have scientific documentation on this practice.
The proactive women’s group of Koror became donors this year to the recently released 2017 Arts & Tide Calendar. One of the members expressed the following, “We are very supportive and impressed by the Center not only because of the work being done but because you invest in young Palauans to do the research”.
