January 30, 2017 (Koror, Palau) Palau National Scholarship Board (PNSB) awarded $2,802,923.46 in scholarship funds to Palauan students during the 2016-17 school year, according to their report to President Remengesau Jr. yesterday.

The PNSB met with President Remengesau to discuss initiatives to improve the number of scholarship enrollments in the Republic and to reach as many students as possible for scholarship applications and information.
PNSB had successfully reached over 190 students during their recent promotion initiative of the Taiwan scholarships.
“Students need to be approached at earlier stages of high school. We need to ensure that they understand what types of scholarships are offered from our foreign and corporate partners. Whether scholarships offered are full-ride, partial, or major specific, we must unsure that they understand enough to make the right decisions early and pursue their college careers.” Stated Remengesau, stressing the importance of good communication.
School year 2016-2017, the PNSB saw 49 Master and Doctorate Degree graduates from in fields of Education, Law, Psychology, Public Administration, International Business, Accounting, Medicine, and Agriculture, according to the report from Palau National Scholarship Board. [/restrict]
