Pacific Nations Arrive in Palau Ahead of Opening Ceremony

KOROR, Palau— Athletes, coaches, and officials from across the Pacific have begun arriving in Palau ahead of the 2025 Pacific Mini Games, scheduled to open in two days.
Teams from Tahiti, the Cook Islands, Tonga, and Samoa arrived on June 25, followed by the Kiribati delegation on June 26. The Northern Mariana Islands and Guam teams landed shortly after midnight on June 27. Fiji’s delegation is expected to arrive in groups between June 27 and 28.

Participants can be seen around Koror and neighboring states wearing national team uniforms and official athlete ID badges. Local residents are encouraged to welcome the visiting athletes as preparations for the games continue.

Final touches are underway throughout the capital. Flags are being displayed, streets are being prepared, and volunteers are assisting with logistics to ensure the event proceeds smoothly.
The Pacific Mini Games will bring together athletes from 23 countries to compete in a spirit of friendly competition and regional solidarity. Beyond the sporting events, the games also provide an opportunity for cultural exchange and celebration.
