27 July 2022– The world’s most influential business, technology and finance leaders gathered in Sydney on 12-13 July 2022 to accelerate the clean energy transition underway across the Indo-Pacific. This regional initiative was co-hosted by the Australian Government and the International Energy Agency, in partnership with the Business Council of Australia.

Mr. Frank Kyota, CEO of the Palau Public Utilities Corporation, and Mr. Keefe Techitong, National Energy Planner, Palau Energy Administration, were invited to attend the forum on behalf of Palau.

With Palau’s recent Solar IPP Project and a roadmap to reduce carbon emissions by 45% by 2025, this Forum was an ideal area to draw on international expertise and practical actions to support Palau’s energy transformations.

“The Sydney Energy Forum was a great event where the brightest minds in climate change and renewable energy came together to discuss how to move forward in these uncertain times, especially with the invasion of Ukraine by Russian forces, which has seen the disruption to supply chains and cost implications for clean energy related projects.  In the end, the main takeaway is that Government policies play a central role alongside efforts from industry to support a clean energy transition.,” said Mr. Techitong.
