March 2023- Peace Winds completed a successful second Health Screening program.

During March 2 to March 7, Peace Winds Palau Office and the Ministry of Health and Human Services, in collaboration with the Shin Kong Hospital, provided free health screening *KENSING* program.

This is the second of the series of four free health screening programs which aims to reduce and prevent the risk of Non-Communicable Diseases (NCDs) for the people in Palau.

The Peleliu State Office hosted the health screening on Thursday March 2 from 4pm to 8pm, and Friday March 3 from 9am to 2pm, and a total of 40 people received the service.  And in Koror State, it was held onboard the Peace Winds medical ship called MV “Kensing”, which means “health screening” in Japanese, at a T-dock on March 6, also at the Palau Community College on March 7, and 88 people came in during these two days.

In Kayangel State, it was originally scheduled for March 8, however it was rescheduled due to the bad weather and the team visited the island on Tuesday, March 21 which 16 people attended, and we concluded the second program.

Total 144 people in three states received free health screening in three states provided by Peace Winds and MHHS in collaboration with Shin Kong Hospital.

Peace Winds would like to thank the Government of Koror, Peleliu and Kayangel states, and PCC Administration staff for their support, and all the people who participated in the Health Screening program.

This project is funded by the Government of Japan.  We appreciate the continuous support received from the Embassy of Japan in the Republic of Palau.
