Koror, Palau — In celebration of International Day of Persons with Disabilities, Ngermalk Island will host a Mini Day Market on Tuesday, December 3, 2024, from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. The event promises to spotlight the entrepreneurial talents of persons with disabilities in Palau through diverse booths selling locally made products.
The market will feature food and beverages crafted by local entrepreneurs with disabilities, handcrafted Palauan souvenirs, unique market services, and fresh, locally sourced fruits and vegetables. The initiative aims to empower individuals with disabilities by creating opportunities to promote their skills and showcase their contributions to the community.
Organizers hope the event will foster interaction and support among persons with disabilities and the public, encouraging greater inclusion within the community. The market also seeks to raise awareness about the importance of supporting micro, small, and medium enterprises (MSMEs) owned by persons with disabilities.
The International Day of Persons with Disabilities serves as a platform to celebrate resilience, creativity, and the entrepreneurial spirit. This year’s Mini Day Market underscores the importance of inclusivity and equal opportunities for all members of society.
Community members are invited to join the celebration and support this meaningful cause while enjoying unique goods and connecting with the individuals behind them.
