A former employee and a current employee of Palau National Communications Corporation have been found guilty on all charges filed against them, including Theft in the Second Degree and Theft of Government Property in the Second Degree, both of which are Class C Felony charges punishable for up to 1 year in jail or a fine of up to $1,000, or both.

The Court issued its verdict on March 31st, stating that it found both defendants “Guilty of All Counts.”

In December 2020, both former Plant Manager for Palau National Telecommunications Corporation (PNCC) Stalin Bai and current PNCC Resources Manager Clinton Freese were charged for Second Degree Theft of Government Properties.

The charges were filed after properties belonging to PNCC were found in both Defendants’ residences. The items had not been reported stolen, nor had there been an official authorization given for the items to be removed from the PNCC facility.

Sentencing is set for May 18, 2021.
