On December 30, 2016, Mr. Naoyuki Maedani, General Manager of Palau Pacific Resort presented $5,000, to Palau’s only research center and aquarium, Palau International Coral Reef Center (PICRC). The donation was made in support of PICRC’s 16th Anniversary Fundraising Gala that will be held at in two weeks, on January 18, 2017 at the Center’s complex.
[restrict] This is PICRC’s only fundraising event of the year co-hosted by President Tommy E. Remengesau and Rubekul Belau (Palau Council of Chiefs).
Palau Pacific Resort (PPR) is one of the primary supporters of conservation to protect Palau’s biodiversity and is a long-standing donor to PICRC. “Thanks to PPR’s investments, our researchers have the liberty to conduct research and raise awareness on priority issues such as overfishing and tourism impact on the reef”, expressed by Ms. Geraldine Rengiil, Director for Research at PICRC.
