On Wednesday January 17, 2024 after their regular Board meeting, the PPUC Board Directors had the incredible opportunity to visit the new Sewage Treatment Plant in Malakal, gaining firsthand insights into the operations that ensure efficient sewage treatment.

A state-of-the-art

facility, the Treatment Plant was commissioned on November 9, 2021 and has been working efficiently since. It consists of a main screen, Sequencing Batch Reactor (SBR) tanks, blowers with diffusers, mixers, decanters, sludge pumps and belt press. The facility also has a laboratory for testing and monitoring of the influent (incoming flow) and effluent (outflow).

The Board members engaged in meaningful discussions with the project manager and the hardworking professionals. By witnessing the complex processes involved in sewage treatment, the board members are better equipped to address challenges, optimize operations and contribute to the ongoing commitment to environmental responsibility.

Should any government agency, school or organization wish to visit the Plant, you may coordinate with our Public Relations Officer by sending an email to r.rengulbai@ppuc.com.
