President Surangel Whipps Jr. and former President Tommy E. Remengesau Jr. with Palau’s Ambassador to Japan Ambassador Peter Adelbai and Minister Counsellor Cristian Nicolescu attended the funeral of Japan’s former Prime Minister Shinzo Abe earlier this week.
“It is with deep regret that we are gathered today to bid farewell to a dear friend of Palau and indeed the entire region, particularly the Pacific Island nations. On behalf of the people of Palau, I extend condolences and prayers to our brothers and sisters of Japan during this period of national mourning,” President Surangel Whipps Jr. states.
