Though not as fully packed as previous Independence Day events, people still flocked to the Koror side of KB Bridge on September 30 and October 1, seeking fresh local food, local produce, traditional dance performances, and music.

Always a major crowd attraction, the Independence Day Boat Race pulled folks to both sides of KB Bridge to witness the hair-raising and adrenalin-pumped event. And it didn’t disappoint at all!
The two days of celebration included a variety of activities that kept people engaged and entertained. The showcase of traditional canoes during the Olchotel Belau Fair added another fun and educational dimension to the celebration. US military band entertained the crowd after the boat race, adding a different flavor to the entertainment.
The event’s culmination with what is now becoming an expected program every Independence Day, the fireworks, wrapped up the fun-filled two days perfectly. (By: L.N. Reklai)
