August 21, 2017 (Koror, Palau) Court sentenced Edwin Rechirikl to 25 years imprisonment with all suspended except for six (6) years served in jail for Trafficking Controlled Substance.
Court accepted a plea agreement in which Rechirikl pled guilty to one count of Trafficking Controlled Substance, a felony charge, and in exchange the court dismissed all other counts. The penalty for Trafficking Controlled Substance, or Methamphetamine or “ice”, is no less than 25 years imprisonment and fine of not less than $50,000.
All other counts against Rechirikl were dismissed with prejudice and cannot be brought up again. He will pay a fine of $10,000 over the term of his probation.
Mr. Rechirikl began serving his six year jail sentence yesterday and after release will be under probation for the remaining of the term of his sentence.
In the stipulation, violation of his probation terms would cause revocation of his probation and part or all of the remainder of the jail sentence may be imposed.
The sentenced stemmed from a case filed against Rechirikl for selling “ice” in June of this year. He was caught selling controlled substance to a police informant. [/restict]
