President Tommy E. Remengesau, Jr. appointed Shiro Kyokawa as Goodwill Ambassador of the Republic of Palau to Japan last February 19.
Kyokowa has been appointed in support of promoting sustainable tourism and the Palau National Marine Sanctuary, and facilitating trade and cultural exchange between both nations.

Presenting his appointment to Kyokawa at the National Capitol, President Remengesau expressed the value and importance of Palau’s friendship with Japan and hopes that Kyokawa will continue to foster this relationship through his appointment as Goodwill Ambassador.
Goodwill Ambassador Kyokawa accepted his appointment with honor and commits to working closely with the Republic of Palau under this capacity.
Accompanied by a group of Japanese businessmen in his first trip to Palau, Goodwill Ambassador Kyokawa further commits to exploring investment opportunities in support of economic growth and to entice Japanese tourism to Palau. [/restrict]
