Palau’ President Tommy E. Remengesau Jr. became the new chief Madrengebuked of Tublai clan of Ngaraard State, a traditional position held by his father Thomas RemengesauSr., who also had served as President of the Republic of Palau.
As chief Madrengebuked of Ngaraard, he is also the Chairman of Ngaraard State House of Chiefs and a member of Palau’s Council of Chiefs that serves as advisor to the President.
His name was submitted as new Madrengebuked to the Ngaruau of Ngebuked (chiefs of Ngebuked) by Mlechei Barbara Ngeleblau.
He was accepted by the 10 chiefs, the Ngaruau of Ngebuked, Ngaraard unanimously. RebechoraidungJoel Toribiong, during the Omelobech (ceremonial feast of chief accepted by his peers) of Tommy Remengesau Jr. to be Maderengebuked, said “let it be known by all of the people here that the Ngaruau of Ngebuked have accepted you as Maderengebuked unanimously.”
President and now Madrengebuked Tommy E. Remengesau Jr. also holds other titles from other States, Ngiradilubech of Ngeremlengui State and Remark of Medorm, Aimeliik State.
