October 19, 2017 (Koror, Palau) Police reports on the two major incidents that occurred early this month, the boat accident that resulted in a dead of chinese tourist and a murder of chinese woman in her home have both been submitted to the Office of the Attorney General for prosecution.
Last week a coroner from off-island was brought in by the Ministry of Justice to investigate the cause of the death of the woman who was found by her husband unresponsive in her home in the early morning of October 5th.
According to Vice President Rayold Oilouch, the coroner’s report confirmed that the woman died by asphyxiation or choking. No confirmation of rape could be provided.
The report from the boating accident was just transmitted today to Attorney General’s Office and details were not provided in time for print.
Remains of both victims are still in Palau and have not been repatriated pending completion of the reports. [/restrict]
