Rotary Assistant District Governor for the Pacific Basin Group, Wayne SN Santos, received an award on June 12, 2018 in Tokyo, Japan, for his outstanding performance in establishing three Rotary Youth Interact Clubs and another Environmental Award which recognized the efforts in planting trees in the Pacific Region from Guam to The Northern Marianas, The Federated States of Micronesia and the Republic of Palau.

As Assistant District Governor, Santos dedicated his time to working with the Youth Interact Clubs in providing Financial Literacy Training and Leadership Training for all 9 Interact Clubs in the Pacific.

Santos also worked with the Rotary Clubs and the Interact Clubs to respond to the Environmental Challenge that was placed forth by Rotary International President Ian Risely, which challenged each club to plant a tree for each Rotarian. A total of 350 trees were planted all over Micronesia. The planting of native trees, medicinal tree’s and food trees were planted to help with sustainability efforts in the region.

Santos was formerly the President for the Rotary Club of Palau and the Rotary Club of Northern Guam before becoming the Assistant District Governor for the Pacific Basin Group this past year.

He has been an active Rotarian for the past 12 years and works at the Bank of Guam as the Vice President/Sales Manager and heads the bank’s Business Development Department. (PR)
