Senate this week confirmed 8 presidential nominees to six boards.
Those confirmed include Carol Ngiraidis to the Board of Palau National Communications Corporation for the term of 4 years, Scott Yano to the Palau Housing Authority for the term of 4 years, Evalista Kyota to the Social Security Administration’s Board of Director and Masao Esebei to the Board of Land Surveyors for 3 years.
Additionally, Fermin Meriang was re-appointed to the Foreign Investment Board for a term of 3 years while Ngiratmetuchl Reagan Belechel, Keiden Skilang, and Lindsay Timarong also got re-appointed and confirmed to the COFA Board of Trustees to serve four-year terms each.
President Surangel Whipps Jr. in his earlier statements this year said Palau has too many boards and that “maybe it is time they are part of government functions”. For 2022, Whipps said they will review the boards, “streamline and find ways to be more efficient.”
